Croquet Mallet and a Doo Rag
To shed some light on the matter, in his own words...the blindfolded bandit's recollection of the afternoon's event...
"I feel I must respond and recall the events as I remember them.
I feel my behavior was a response to be under extreme stress on the night in question, you see I was in unfamiliar territory that Saturday night. More specifically, I mean, I attended a party at which there were no chemists. As you can imagine this was one of the most frightening experiences of my life so far. I was forced to communicate with other people who did not want to spend hours complaining about how people weren't working as hard as me, weren't as smart as me and did not instantly want to make fun of people for the things they said. It was so strange that I felt myself relax and I started actually having lots of fun, the highlight of the afternoon was probably playing horseshoes and bocce. Then just when I thought things were quieting down, I was blindfolded and given a croquet mallet and encouraged to hit a paper mache model, in which people wanted to set on fire whilst the crowd cheered and chanted on while I swung wildly. By the time a came to my senses, I realized that I had decapitated the model and people were starting to greedily devour its insides. Afterwards I was so ashamed.
While I realize these are not the sort of things that I should be wasting my time on as I could have been working in the laboratory on my incredibly interesting and challenging project. I feel that this was just a lack of judgement on my part and I assure you that this will not happen again.
Yours in chemistry and continually pushing the frontiers,
Blindfolded Bandido"
